Cannock Phoenix Swimming Club based in Cheslyn Hay/Cannock has a successful competitive squad. The club is a well-known competitive club, which is improving year on year. Past results of the club include multiple gala and league wins. The squad ranges from 8 years to 18+ years.
The squad consists of 3 sections:
Cannock Phoenix Pre-Squad
Pre-squad swimmers are aged between 8-9 years old. They are selected from within our Learn To Swim or via external enquires for those wishing to compete in competitive swimming. We offer a free trial session and free advice for each individual. Each swimmer must meet requirements set by the Head Coach and Pre-Squad Coach.
Numbers are limited and swimmers are expected to swim twice a week. All strokes starts, turns and finishes are taught at this level. Find out more here.
Cannock Phoenix Junior Squad
Junior squad swimmers are aged between 9-12 years. Requirements for Junior Squad are good to excellent strokes, followed with good starts, turns and finished. Swimmers are expected to swim between 3-4 times a week. At 9-12 years swimmers are old enough to compete in galas and open meets. Gala selections are selected on times. It is expected that if selected swimmers should represent the club at these events. Find out more here.
Cannock Phoenix Senior Squad
Senior Squad swimmers are aged between 12-18+ years. Requirements for senior swimmers are between 3-5+ sessions a week. Swimmers learn advanced technique, starts, turns, finishes. Along with race strategies and pacing for individual events. Seniors swimmers are expected to take responsibility and set a good example within the club. Seniors also compete at higher level galas and open meets. Senior swimmers also have to chance to progress into teaching with our Learn to Swim program. Find out more here.
