Competitive Swimming Head Coach – Luke Thomas
Luke Thomas is our head Coach who oversees all competitive swimming within the club.
Luke is a former/current swimmer with the club. Luke has a large sporting knowledge about the sport which also includes running and cycling as he was a semi- professional Triathlete before taking the role of Head coach. Luke trained with High level national athletes at Birmingham University and has been on several high level training camps around the world. Highest achievement was winning the national championships for aquathlon and competing in the world championship in Australia in 2009. Luke also holds level 3 performance qualifications in competitive swimming.
Learn To Swim Head Teacher – Aidan Bolas
Aidan Bolas has been teaching since the age of 16, level 1 +2 ASA qualified and is also lifeguard qualified and formerly lifeguard training instructor qualified.
He started by swimming competitively for the club, went on to teach and then oversee the Learn To Swim programme as Head Teacher. Aidan has experience of teaching for a range of providers from council lesson programmes, private swim schools through to 1-1 adult lessons.
Aidan sits on to the club committee overseeing matters involving staffing and the lessons program.
